Located at the foot of the Kaiser Mountains, Oberaudorf is an ideal starting point for every mountain sports enthusiast. Local peaks such as the Hocheck, Wildbarren, Brünnstein, and Kranzhorn offer wonderful mountain experiences just a short drive away. The Inn Cycle Path invites you to enjoy scenic bike tours against a breathtaking backdrop, while mountain bike fans will find plenty of vertical meters for their alpine enjoyment on the forest paths of the surrounding mountains.
Family Activities
With the Hocheck, Oberaudorf offers a true family adventure mountain. The chairlift takes you directly to the summer toboggan run, the "Oberaudorfer Flieger" zip line, or the forest rope park. Additionally, there is a "Sagenweg" (Legend Trail) that leads from the middle station to the mountain station of the Hocheck. The lifts of the Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser are also operational in summer and offer exciting family adventure worlds. Other nearby attractions include mini-golf, wildlife parks, the RaritätenZoo, amusement parks, mine and cave explorations, horse farms, indoor climbing gyms, adventure pools, and much more.
Swimming & Water Sports
With the Luegsteinsee and the Niederaudorfer Badesee, there are two natural swimming lakes in the immediate vicinity. For the little ones, the Auerbach stream offers plenty of space for playing and splashing. Numerous outdoor pools can be found in the neighboring communities of Erl, Ebbs, Flintsbach, and Niederndorf. Thermal baths and indoor water parks are also available in the wider area. Water skiing on Lake Hödenauer in Kiefersfelden or sailing on Lake Chiemsee further expand the summer water sports program.
Culture
Oberaudorf has much to offer culturally with the Audorf Museum, the Grafenburg Baroque Museum, and the Reisach Monastery. Traditional folk theater and concerts are regularly on the program here and in the neighboring communities. For opera lovers, a visit to the Tyrol Festival in Erl is well worth it. The nearby cities of Kufstein, Rosenheim, Innsbruck, Salzburg, and Munich expand the cultural spectrum as desired, and are all located only about an hour away by car or train from Oberaudorf.
Winter Sports
Featuring one of the longest floodlit systems in Germany, Oberaudorf offers skiing and snowboarding fun well into the night. A 3-km long, safety-tested toboggan run also ensures maximum fun in the snow. Cross-country skiers will enjoy the local trails, and classic ski tours can be explored not far from Oberaudorf.
